UK singer and multiple Grammy award winner, Adele is reportedly being recruited by a new plus-size dating site as its celebrity spokesperson and to flaunt her voluptuous curves in a bid to downplay negative stereotypes about plus sized women.
‘The Big and the Beautiful’, a site created for ‘women with curves and the men who love them,’ has offered the ‘Rolling in the deep’ singer a whopping $1.6 million to participate in their 2012 ad campaigns.
The site was founded by Whitney Thompson, the first plus-sized winner of the modelling competition show ‘America’s Next Top Model’. She is also the president of the site.
‘Adele is a ridiculously talented bombshell’, Thompson says. ‘I would be proud to work alongside her to continue to show the world what curvy girls are made of’.
The singer was recently in the news over comments by Karl Lagerfeld who described her as a little too fat, a comment which generated so much controversy in the media barely a few days to the Grammy awards, prompting the pony tail Fendi boss to retract his statement and apologize to the 23 year old singer.
Adele’s sophomore album, 21, helped earn her six Grammy Awards in 2012 including ‘Album of the Year’, equalling the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night. She also picked up two awards at the recently held BRIT Awards.
