You may probably want to get familiar with her name, because she is currently on fire on the tracks. You may remember Blessing Okagbare from her Long Jump bronze model during the 2008 Olympics and also her strong performance during the 2012 Olympics.
The Nigerian athlete has been making recent headlines in this year’s IAAF Diamond League.
On Saturday, the 25-year-old won the women’s 200m at Paris Diamond League, beating favourite Allyson Felix of America, in France. Okagbare finished in 22.32 secs.
During the 100m on Thursday, Blessing stumbled out of the blocks and failed to finish. But she has been on a winning streak ever since then.
She will represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23rd to August 3rd. Blessing will take part in the women’s 100 m, 200m, and 4X100m events.
