The 66-year-old actor has listed the 50.2 acre property in Wellington, Florida, on the market for the massive sum, which is over $22 million more than what he originally paid for it.

Tommy – who took up the equine sport in his 40s – paid $4.46 million for the ranch 10 years ago and has worked hard turning it into one of the top polo ranches in the world.

The Hollywood veteran has a large property portfolio which includes two cattle ranches in Texas, one in Santa Fe, California, and another polo ranch Buenos Aires, Argentina, and decided to sell up because he has too many businesses to focus on.

A source told local Florida blog Gossip Extra: ‘He decided to get rid of one, and he picked Wellington.

The San Saba Polo Ranch – which is named after his Texan home – boasts a regulation-sized polo field, while any players who wish dismount their horse can work up a sweat on the stick and ball field.

Up to 48 horses can be kept in the four paddocks and two barns and their are trails to go riding on and a man-made lake to enjoy.

There is also a residence for the human visitors as the ranch has a groomers’ quarters complete with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Although the ranch is very impressive, realtor Philip Lyle Smith believes it could take some time to sell because it is such a specialist purchase.

He said: ‘It’s a unique property for a unique buyer. The appraisal could be a problem since there’s a huge difference between what Mr. Jones bought it for and what he wants for it. It’s going to take a while for him to sell it.’

Tommy was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in ‘Lincoln’ but lost out on Sunday night (24.02.13) to ‘Django Unchained’ star Christoph Waltz.
